In-Home Therapy

About Our In-Home Therapy Services

Renaissance Wellness Services In-Home Therapy brings compassionate, professional therapy directly to your doorstep. Our in-home therapy services are designed to meet individuals and families where they’re most comfortable — at home. Whether you’re navigating behavioral health challenges, developmental concerns, or emotional stressors, our clinicians create a personalized care plan tailored to your goals.

We proudly serve communities across North Carolina, removing the barriers of transportation, stigma, and scheduling conflicts. Our mission is simple: to make mental health support accessible, empowering, and deeply human — right where healing begins.

In-Home Therapy is intended to:

Eliminate barriers to care by bringing therapists directly into the client's home

Support emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs through personalized, in-place interventions

Involve family members or caregivers when appropriate to strengthen support systems

Serve individuals who face challenges with traditional clinic-based services

Expand access for underserved populations, including rural areas and Medicaid recipients

In-Home Therapy Eligibility:

A recipient is eligible for IHT services when all of the following criteria are met:

Age Requirement:

Generally designed for children and adolescents (up to age 21) who are experiencing serious emotional or behavioral challenges.

Clinical Necessity:

The child must have a diagnosed mental health disorder that significantly impairs functioning at home, in school, or in the community. A Comprehensive Clinical Assessment (CCA) must determine that IHTS is medically necessary.

Level of Impairment:

The individual must demonstrate moderate to severe functional impairments, school behavioral concerns (e.g., suspensions, IEP, Truancy), and/or be at risk for out-of-home placement (e.g., hospitalization, residential treatment, foster care).

Failed Lower Levels of Care:

There is typically a requirement that outpatient therapy has been attempted and was not sufficient, or that symptoms are too severe for outpatient settings.

Need for Frequent, Intensive Support:

The youth must require frequent, direct interventions in the home/community to stabilize and support skill-building, not just occasional visits.
