Trysha Mazzola is currently a child, adolescent, and adult, office-based therapist at the Pittsboro, NC office location and also a school-based therapist for Chatham County Schools. She currently provides in-person and telehealth services.
Trysha Mazzola is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate (LCSWA). She received her Master’s degree in Social Work from Simmons University and is currently a Doctorate of Social Work candidate at the University of Southern California Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work.
Trysha has experience working in school settings, private settings, and social service agency settings. She has provided individual and group therapy to children, adolescents, adults, parents, and families with a wide range of mental health needs.
As a therapist, Trysha strives to create a place where children, adolescents, adults, parents, and families can come to be heard, understood, and supported. As a Child-Centered Play Therapy Practitioner, Trysha has a particular passion for working with younger children ages 2 – 10 years old. She enjoys utilizing play and creative expression techniques to guide younger children as they learn to identify and express new (and often significant) emotions healthily.
Trysha also really enjoys working with adolescents to help them navigate some of the overwhelming pressures they often feel as they head into young adulthood. With adults, Trysha most often finds that emotional hardship is connected to finding a work/family/life balance and juggling the many hats and responsibilities that come with adulthood.
Regardless of what stage of life you find yourself or your child in, Trysha’s goal is to help identify individual strengths and develop a unique coping skill toolbox to help each person find the value within themselves and feel confident in their ability to tackle the hurdle in front of them. Trysha’s style is very calming, comforting, and relaxing.
When Trysha isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, children and family. She enjoys learning new things, participating in outdoor activities and listening to music.
Trysha currently accepts Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Aetnaand Cardinal Innovations Medicaid. Trysha can also accept our other indicated private insurances as an out of network clinician.
